St. Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School (CBSE), Udupi, observed Peace Day with deep reverence and commitment on 30th January 2025. The program, coordinated by Classes II A and B, was a heartfelt tribute to the ideals of peace, harmony, and remembrance of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
The event commenced with a prayer, invoking divine blessings for a peaceful world. This was followed by a warm welcome speech by Nidisha, who greeted the gathering with enthusiasm and set the tone for the occasion. As a symbol of growth and harmony, Dhanvi Padmashali offered a sapling to the esteemed Chief Guest, Sr. Jyothi, Superior of St. Cecily’s Convent.
The cultural segment beautifully encapsulated the essence of peace. A melodious group song on peace filled the air with serenity, inspiring everyone to embrace kindness and unity. Rifza Fathima then highlighted the importance of the day, reflecting on the significance of peace in today’s world and its role in shaping a better future. A compelling street play on peace was performed, showcasing the impact of violence and the power of understanding, compassion, and dialogue in resolving conflicts.
Addressing the gathering, Sr. Jyothi emphasized the importance of Peace Day and urged the students to honor the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation. She encouraged everyone to uphold peace not only within the school premises but also in society, fostering a culture of respect and harmony.
As the programme drew to a close, Ridhi Nayak expressed gratitude through the vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all who made the event a success. The celebration concluded with the National Anthem, leaving a profound message that peace is not just an ideal but a way of life that each one must strive to uphold.
