A two day seminar on the topic Classroom Management was organized by CBSE ,COE Bengaluru which was hosted by St. Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School, Udupi on 20.07.2024 and 21.07.2024.
The resource persons were Mr. Bhujanga P Shetty, Principal of Sri Laxhmi Janardhan International School, Nandalike, Udupi, and Ms. Radha Prabhu, Principal of Dr. N Shankara Adyanthaya Memorial English Medium High School, Nitte.
Mr. Bhujanga emphasized the following topics:
* Components of effective classroom management
* VARK learning styles
* Instructional management
* Class management styles
* Managing classes with a large number of students
* Fun ways to group students
* Importance of transition.
Ms. Radha focused on the following:
* Introduction to mental health in school
* Understanding classroom management
* Physical arrangements in the classroom
* Classroom time management
* Consequences and rewards
* Management and interpersonal relationships
* Classroom rules, procedures, and practices
* Disciplinary practices: rewards and consequences
* Dealing with misbehavior in the classroom.
The sessions were highly engaging, incorporating numerous icebreaker activities, group discussions, individual tasks, and case studies. These dynamic sessions are poised to significantly benefit us teachers by enhancing our classroom management skills and fostering a more effective learning environment.
